Entrepreneurial maverick, business pioneer – these are not the usual epithets reserved for a rock-climber (and environmentalist) but Yvon Chouinard ain’t your usual kind of bloke.
Still in his teens, Chouinard – in order to afford his favourite pastime – bought a second-hand forge to make his own rock-climbing equipment, according to how he believed it could make climbing better….

We were lucky to catch this show nearby our studio recently. A selected retrospective of The Design Research Unit, the pioneering team of graphic designers, architects & industrial designers who formed an official practise from 1942-1972.

Whilst we were perusing the London design scene. LA, was travelling down to Chichester to see the exhibition of Robin & Lucienne Days work. Undoubtedly the most celebrated British designer couple of the post War era. The British equivalent of Charles & Ray Eames.

Yesterday, I popped down to Mid Century Modern at Lords Cricket ground. A great little show (or not so little now) that has for the last 9 years (so I believe) has been held in Dulwich. The Modern Show team have set up this smaller offshoot with approx 50 dealers showing their wares.
