Although more famed for her modernist images of the New York skyline, Berenice Abbott was also hugely influential in the development in scientific photography from the 1930’s onwards. Indeed, it was this type of pioneering photography and it’s ability to display both the structural element of an object and it’s construction, that informed our own recent Summer Portraits.
